TIME

TIME

Written by Sage

Before Time came to be, the planes were filled with nothingness. There was no movement, neither that of time nor that of mass. There was no way of pointing out a beginning or an end. The very atoms refused to move, only being willed to move when The Architect willed it so.

This ceaseless interregnum changed when The Architect took this nothingness into Their hands. They grasped it firmly, digging their celestial fingers deep into the fabric. With all Their strength, They started pulling. The part of the fabric of reality tore right down the middle, causing a flash of light to expand throughout the void. These two torn-apart pieces of fabric evaporated immediately, scattering blue dust-like particles around the space. The particles gathered again and formed two masses. These masses would pulse and change shape, until eventually, two new primordials were formed.

In this existence where time did not exist, a loud ticking could be heard by everything. Suddenly, there were hours and days, a past to the present. The two other primordials, Void and Order, felt the waves of time expanding throughout the planes, marking the beginning of times.

This first new primordial is hypnotizing to look at. In their surroundings you can always hear the ticking of a clock. They come off as predictable and strict, as time remains a constant, moving at a fixed and unstoppable pace, and they were charged with keeping it that way. If anything or anyone threatens their stable domain, they will feel the wrath that Time normally keeps so hidden. Time is also quiet and reserved. Words and emotions are not necessary for them, they let the intervals of time speak for them.

Time takes the form of a mass of energy shaped in a genderless, humanoid way, that shines a faint blue light. In the core of this mass of energy, a thumping can be heard. Mortals would call it a heart, always trying to grasp the idea of the primordial by making it human-like. However, this is not the case. Though it beats like one, the core of their form is the ticking of Time. Every beat was a second that was now perceived as the past. The light emanating from their form faintly pulses with this beating. Usually, they wear a dark blue cloak, covering most of their form.

Time’s relationship with other primordials is neutral, strictly because all of their domains are connected. This primordial is otherwise a solitary being, prefering to be surrounded by their archive. This is a place only accessible by them where they keep all the records of the time that has passed. The archive is one of the only places that the void primordial is unable to access in any form.

Time and the other primordials

Fate - Time, with having a lot of work and responsibilities on their so-called shoulders, has no interest in having a leading role. With Fate taking the leader role for themselves, Time had no objections. Their relationship is a neutral and professional one, agreeing to let them do their own work and not interrupt each other.

Life - Time and Life have a good relationship. This is due to the fact these two concepts go hand in hand and influence each other in a fair way. These two primordials work together while attending to the universes, and they do it very well. Life is the only primordial who has seen the exterior of the archive.

Death - Though Time understands the need for Death, the concept itself does not interest them as much. This leads to Time having a neutral view of Death. They do not harbor any bad feelings towards this primordial.

Order - Time and Order go hand in hand. These two primordials work together well and have a good relationship, though it is mostly business wise. They both have an understanding for keeping order to a certain extent.

Void - Though Void seems to favor Time, this does not seem to be reciprocated. Time has no interest towards Void as time passing or aging in the void is nothing like how it works in the universes. This makes Time neutral towards Void, though they appreciate the favorable behavior towards them.

Eternity - Even though Eternity is Time’s so-called sibling, they do not have a great relationship. Time thinks of Eternity as immature, they do not care as much for keeping order unlike Time themself. With their explosive nature, Time is afraid of them causing unwanted chaos.

Destiny - Time favored Destiny quite a bit, viewing their responsibility as a major driving force of Time itself. Destiny gave reason to the ever-onward march of time, and thus the two were nearly inseparable. It is because of this that Time was the second primordial to fall to Chaos.
